The purpose built studio is fitted with spacious live rooms, state of the art analog and digital recording equipment. The recording facility is built from the ground up and constructed by US studio designer Ric Vaughan.
Take full advantage of the big live room to create your unique sound. Three separate iso booths give you the opportunity to track whole sessions live, with great sound separation. There’s even tie lines up to the loft, which also features a big window overlooking the live room.
The main live room has an oiled Norwegian pine wood floor throughout. There are excellent sight lines to control room, iso booths and the stunning scenery outside. The room offers natural acoustics and a controlled sound. It’s very uniform throughout. We use custom built gobos to tailor the acoustics to each project.
This booth is treated to be fairly “dead”, but the acoustics can be further controlled with strategically placed absorbing curtains. The booth is equipped with a double set of triple glazed wood frame doors, providing virtually complete attenuation of sound into the main live room.
This booth has a slightly more “dead” acoustic, but again can be made even more so with the installed curtains. Again this booth has a double set of triple glazed wood frame doors.
This booth doubles up as our EMT plate reverb room and storage space. It doesn’t have windows, but it’s perfect to tuck away guitar amps and leslies.
The carefully designed control room has a natural open sound, providing a comfortable yet accurate listening environment. It’s uniform around the room and has a tight low end. There is plenty of space for musicians to be fully involved in the recording and mixing process.
Another unique feature is a doorway leading directly over a step, to the beach outside. Always handy should a difficult moment arise. You can imagine your own scenario there!
Studio B, which opened in 2014, is located in the building next door to the main studio.
Studio designer Ric Vaughn had the opportunity to design the room based on the golden acoustic ratios, and it sounds outstanding. Amphion Two18 speakers and the very controlled and accurate acoustics, make it the ideal space for mixing and critical listening. With a Pro Tools HD Native system and a selection of analog outboard equipment, our mixing service is of the highest calibre.
Natural lighting and stunning scenery outside, has also made Studio B popular as a writing room for composers and producers. The back of the room has a vocal mic set up for overdubs, making this a cost-effective solution for productions on a budget.
The studio's common areas are fitted with a fully equipped kitchen, living room with ocean views, stereo, Playstation 4, bathroom with a shower, and all you need for a pleasant stay. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, with eight beds in total.
